This One's For The Girls.....

Meet the "G" Family- one of the most well-mannered set of girls ever! They were a true delight to photograph this week! How jealous are you of the mom? She looks like she is about 20 years old doesn't she? I love when the mom's look like they are a sister instead of the mom! Please share your secret of staying so young looking! Thanks for a great session!

My Ad For Tampa Bay Pareting!

Don't you just love Lucky Charms? I am just like my kids- I pick out all of the Marshmallows and throw away all of the cereal. Well my Ad for the March issue of Tampa Bay Parenting was inspired by my breakfast, and the fact that I am the youngest of three children. You see, to this day, I am still not sure who my parents truly are since my mom never took me to get my photograph. She has amazing images of my brother (the oldest), some cute ones of my sister (the second), and about two of me from birth to ten. My intentions were to offer 1/2 off session fees for "other than the first born child", but then I wanted to include mom's that are brave enough to bring anything that is living under their roof to my studio- dogs, cats, gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, snakes (eek)- if it has a mouth to feed by you then bring it (just please do not bring the squirrels that are outside eating your garbage like at my house since they have to actually live under your roof and not on top of it! Hope to see you all in March!

"Ms. A"- You Take My Breath Away!

This was definitely one of my favorite sessions ever from this week! If you have a six month old, and can kind-of sit-up on their own, please bring them to my studio! This is the best time to photograph any child! Ms. "A" was just perfect. Three years ago, one of my photography teachers told me that a successful photographer can create an image that no one else can- I feel in this session I surpassed that goal. These images say so much (Oh What Am I Going To Wear Today Besides These Pearls, Nanny-Nanny Boo Boo Rabbit). Thanks Debbie for having such a wonderful daughter to photograph, and for helping me with that "funny bunny"

Honeymoon Island Here We Come!

I had the great opportunity to photograph this family at Honeymoon Island last weekend. So it was a little cloudy and cold- but we had a ton of fun! I love to watch families- especially how the cousins interact with each other. They all live in separate states, but seem just a close. My favorite subject to capture in this session was the little girl with the great hair. She gave me the best expressions, and she is just so incredibly cute!
Thanks for introducing me to Honeymoon Island the "A" family!

She Is My Best Friend and .....

I am so incredibly proud of her! We met while we were in college waiting tables, and having not a care in the world! We looked very similar and often played jokes on our customers. We both knew that our lives would never be the same. We have been in each other's weddings, laughed and cried for hours and held hands as we followed our dreams. She has changed my life for the better- this is what I call a best friend! I was honored to do this headshot of Christa. She is in the final stages of her children's book. I also did a session for her illustrator- Mark Wayne Adams. You can check out his website at:
web.mac.com/markwayneadams. He is such an amazing artist. Christa's first book is titled "Nicholas that's ridiculous after her first son (she has one about me in the works- "Aunt Jane that's insane- too funny). Congrats Christa! I am your biggest fan!

Hogan will soon have another hero!

Expectant Parent's thoughts: Anticipation, wonder, how much sleep will we actually get, will I remember to feed the dog, he was our first baby- will he love this baby. Expectant dog's thoughts: what in the world is going to happen to me, how am I going to hold my pee for that long, how in the heck am I going to get my naps with a screaming baby, how much table food can drop from the baby's plate, do I have a choice in loving the baby since my life will be consumed by this thing that has come to live with us.
Ok-so I wanted to start off my week with a little humor, and yes I made all of this up. But as a dog lover, and mom of two boys, these were my funny thoughts. This was such a great session of Hogan and his parents last week. I really enjoyed capturing some amazing shots- unfortunately, I did not post them since they involved a bare belly and the doggie kissing the belly which is my favorite during a maternity session, but only for my clients to see! Don't you just love the one in which Hogan is sitting up with his belly?

Happy Birthday to ........ ME

So yesterday was my birthday, and I officially took the day off. It was a wonderful day! I got to see my boys run in the Kid's Gasparilla Race, had two great meals and took a two hour nap without feeling guilty! So as I get closer to 40, I can honestly say that we are all just a nice glass of wine- life just gets better with age! My birthday gift from my family this year was to have a family portrait taken on the beach. It has been twenty-two years since my entire family had a portrait taken together- although we beat the odds since Kodak has said that a family will only get one portrait taken in their lifetime. I still have some work to do on this image, but I really wanted to post it. Can you guess what heads I moved on CS3? Thank you to "Mr. R" for snapping this picture- I was not sure if my wireless shutter release would work!

Fun in the Florida February Sun!

Just one of the those days when you do not know what the sun is going to do (gotta love portable power and lights). I had such a great time capturing this family. The children were so well behaved, and the parents were very much still in love. I like to ask the parents to kiss in my sessions- I guess that I think it is important for their children to see good role models for a happy and loving marriage. My favorite image is the one in which everyone is looking at "the baby"- I am the youngest in my family so I get how important it is for the youngest to be the center of attention! You did great Lily!

Here Comes Lucy!

She is the apple of her mom's eye and now mine too! Such a sweet and happy little lady to capture! Don't you just love those three brown dots on her back- she really reminds me of "I Love Lucy! I know her mom really wanted a gallery wrapped canvas, but how are you going to decide on this one Staci? Thank you Lucy for the laughs!

Moses The Great!

This week I had the awesome chance to photograph Moses The Cat! Just hearing his story how he was rescued as a stray, and knowing how much his family loves him now really made this session very special. He is an incredibly beautiful cat with such a sweet personality. Such an easy guy to capture! Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph him and to meet you all-I would still love to meet Moses' brother!

A Love Af"Fair" Engagement Session

You might recognize these love birds from a previous session- this time without their pig George (the best pet ever). Melissa wanted their engagement session to be at the fair- what a great idea! So many colors, so many interesting people. One fair worker told us that he was looking for his sixth wife, another man told Jose that it was cheaper to "rent a woman"- gotta love unsolicited advice that you receive at the fair! They had some many wonderful images to post! Get this- I will be doing their wedding in November- I know, I do not do weddings, but I could not resist. Why? Well they are super fun to work with, and George will be the ring bearer. After having my dog Carl in this very special role in my own wedding, I could not say no! Thanks you all- it was a perfect day!

Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

That's what these boys were made of! Ok- no lie- I love working with boys! I guess because I have two of my own so I am used to saying silly things and just having a good old laugh with them. After doing this for three years, I have finally realized that boys are just awesome to photograph
(not that girls aren't since I love to have fun with them too). I loved working with the "B" family- do you still think that I am stinky (ha ha).

Eat your heart out Bobby Bowden!

Ok- I know the title of this blog is very confusing since we are a Gator household, but look at these images. Have you ever seen a better looking "Nole" fan in your life? Get this- his name is Bowden! Such a gorgeous couple and a super cute dog- makes my job look so easy! Thanks for the tilted head shots Bowden! You are a natural!

So I am a little bit behind on my blog. I have been slammed with Valentines Day orders which is a good thing! I have four more sessions to post from the past few days, but I really wanted to share this one from my Saturday session. These two cuties traveled all the way from Colorado!
Wouldn't you love to have curls like these? She has the perfect amount of "sassyness" to go with the curls! "C" family- thank you so much for these timeless images! Now what are we going to do about those stinky toes Ms. F?
